What to expect at Koki Zoo

Zoo Koki is home to over 150 wildlife species found around the world. 

Prominent wildlife areas at the zoo include The Aviary, Pheasants and Similar, Land of Felines, Lords of the Air, the Lakes, the Meadows, Mini Zoo, and the Shadows of the Nights (the Barn).

The Aviary: Get beak to nose with flamboyant birds like kingfishers, ducks, peacocks, doves, owls, suits, pigeons, etc.

The Land of the Felines: See some hunting animals like red lynxes, Arabian cats, European wildcats, and jaguars, to name a few. 

The Pheasants and Similar: Get closer to roosters, pheasants, turkeys, partridges, and other land birds in this zoo exhibit. 

The Lake: Also known as Los Lagos, in this wildlife area, watch beautiful birds floating in the water like the European tailfin, real duck, brown pochard, etc.

The Meadow: This area introduces you to prairies and steppes biomes, the land of the oryx, muntjac, mouflon, ostrich, African donkey, przewalski’s horse, alpaca, and many other animals.  

Lords of the Air: Watch birds, like eagles, kites, harries, etc., with sharp sight, claws, and excellent hunting skills. 

Mini Zoo: Spend some time with farm animals, including the dwarf goat, pony, Vietnamese pig, sheep, etc. 

The Shadows of the Nights: Watch your steps as you enter the habitat of nocturnal birds, the owls.

The Valkyrie playground is the kids’ favorite corner in the zoo, where they can run, jump, and play.

Where to buy Zoo Koki tickets

Tickets to the Zoo Koki are available online and at the zoo’s ticket booth. 

Online ticket prices tend to be cheaper than tickets at the venue.

When you buy online, you can avoid the long queues at the attraction’s ticket counters.

Because some attractions sell a limited number of tickets, during peak days they may sell out. Booking early helps avoid last-minute disappointments.

How online tickets work 

Go to the Zoo Koki ticket booking page, select the desired number of tickets and date, and book your tickets right away!

Upon payment, the tickets will be emailed to you.

Ticket printouts are not required.

On the day of your visit, show the e-ticket on your smartphone at the entrance and walk in.

Remember to bring your official IDs. 

Zoo Koki ticket prices

The Koki Zoo tickets for adults aged between 13 and 64 years cost €9. 

Tickets for children between three to 12 years are available at €8.

Seniors over 65 years can get tickets for €7. 

Infants under two years get free admission.

However, only two free infant entries are allowed per paying adult.

This fast track ticket gives you access to all the exhibits in the Koki Zoo.

You can explore the thematic zones and see jaguars, tigers, lynxes, owls, eagles, and other animals.

Audio guide is available in Spanish. 

Food and snacks are available, but not included in this ticket.

You can upgrade your ticket by paying €1 extra at checkout to include a small food bag for feeding the animals or to get an animal badge to express your passion for wildlife.

How to reach Zoo Koki

The Koki Zoo is located in the heart of Toledo, Spain.

It is better to reach the zoo by personal vehicle as the public transport stations are located a little far away. 

Even the nearest bus stops, like Val Sto.Domingo, Maqueda, etc., are almost 7 km (4 miles) from the zoo.

You must rent a cab from these stops to get to the zoo. 

So either book a cab directly to the zoo or turn on Google Maps if you plan to take your car. 

The zoo offers free car parking facilities.

The Koki Zoo is open from Thursday to Sunday from 10.30 am to 8 pm. 

From Monday to Wednesday, it remains closed. 

The last entry to the zoo is one hour before the closing time. 

How long does the zoo take

It takes three hours to explore the Zoo Koki and Botanical Park completely. 

If you stop for lunch, feeding sessions, animal presentations, and some other entertainment programs, you may stay longer. 

When you are here with kids, it may take six to seven hours as kids would never want to leave this beautiful zoo. 

Best time to visit Zoo Koki

The best time to visit Zoo Koki is when it opens at 10.30 am. 

When you start early, you can avoid being stuck in crowds and queues. 

Also, starting early gives you ample time to explore the animal exhibits and enjoy dining and picnicking.

Animals are more readily visible in the early morning, as they tend to seek shaded areas as the day becomes hotter.

On weekends and public holidays, the zoo gets crowded, so weekdays are better for a comfortable and uninterrupted visit.
