What to expect at Beauval Zoo

The Beauval Zoo Park is divided into 22 territories.

The Equatorial Dome, Land of the Lions, The Historic Alley, The North American Territory, The Gorilla Greenhouse, and The Rotunda of Parrots are a few such animal zones, with The Great American South Aviary being the latest addition.

Hold your breath during the bird show, Les Maîtres des Airs (The Air Masters), as owls, cranes, pelicans, and storks mesmerize you with their killer moves.

Another show, L’Odyssée des Lions de Mer (The Odyssey of the Sea Lions), held in a large aquatic amphitheater, is heart-winning as beautiful sea lions flaunt their acrobatic skills.

The Le Nuage de Beauval (The Cloud of Beauval), offering cable rides, has nearly 24 gondolas connecting territories of elephants and pandas.

As you fly high in the sky (up to 40 meters or 131 feet), sitting in glass gondolas, keep your eyes out on various animals rolling over the land on this short 800 meters (0.5 miles) journey.

The Equatorial Dome is the zoo’s highlight that preserves tropical wildlife in a truly natural way.

You can spot hippos, anacondas, squirrel monkeys, komodo dragons, giant otters, etc.

There are 19 pools and aquariums to get closer to the equatorial aquatic species, including pygmy hippos, piranhas, alligators, and countless fishes.

How long does the Beauval zoo take

It may take one complete day to explore the Beauval Zoo owing to its numerous animal territories, shows, and activities.

Some people take a quick stroll through the exhibits and leave within 4 to 5 hours, while families with kids stay until the park closes.

If you wish to spend more time discovering the animal world, consider purchasing a 2-day ticket which also makes your zoo tour less exhausting.

Best time to visit Beauval Zoo

The best time to visit Beauval Zoo is when it opens at 9 am.

There are four benefits of starting early – the animals are most active early in the morning, the temperatures are still moderate, the crowd is yet to get in, and you have the whole day to spend at the attraction.

As the day gets hotter, animals prefer staying inside their shelters. As a result, you may get disappointed when you don’t see them in the exhibit.

Weekdays are better for a peaceful visit because the zoo gets crowded on weekends and school holidays.

The zoo is most crowded on weekends between 10 am and 2 pm.

If you are on a short holiday in Saint-Aignan, starting early also allows you to add another attraction to the day’s itinerary.

Map of Beauval Zoo Park

Considering the size and number of animals sheltered inside this zoo, we can say that the zoo is quite big to explore.

When different animals are housed, it becomes challenging to locate the animal enclosures, activity areas, picnic spots, restaurants, washrooms, and many other facilities at the zoo.

Of course, there are zoo keepers and signboards to guide you throughout your journey, but it is always good to set up the rhythm of the tour by yourself.

This is why a zoo map becomes very important when you’re out for adventure with your family and friends.

With the Beauval Zoo map, you can navigate everything and anything on your mobile phone.
